Here is a step by step guide on how to track an AdsCompass campaign with CPV One (opens new window). The process is the same for CPV Lab (opens new window) self-hosted ad tracker.

Step 1: Setup AdsCompass in CPV Lab | CPV One

  • CPV Lab Pro comes with the AdsCompass Traffic Source pre-configured in the Traffic Sources Catalog pages, so in this case all you have to do is import it from the Catalog.

Step 2: Create a Campaign in CPV Lab | CPV One

  • Go to Campaigns menu ➡️ Add New Campaign
  • Select the Campaign Type you need, based on your funnel (either direct link and landing page, lead optin, multiple options, email follow campaign, etc).
  • In the campaign setup page:
    • General settings: here pay attention to the custom tracking domain you want to use
    • Tracking Settings: fill all the settings and select the Data Options you want tracked
    • Macros and Tokens: select AdsCompass as the Traffic Source and choose the Predefined Extra Tokens that you want to capture from this ad network.
      • Also, you can select if you want to track Bot and Proxy traffic.

  • Select the Landing pages you want to use for this campaign (if you use landing pages)
  • Select the offers you will promote
  • Save the Campaign
  • Get the Campaign URL from the Links & Pixels section

TIP

Note: **The Postback URL will be automatically called to send information about conversions to AdsCompass. CPV Lab will call the Postback URL every time a conversion is registered and will inform the ad network about it. This is useful in order for the ad network to optimize the targeting algorithm.

Important: if you don't want to send information about conversions back to the ad network, then you can uncheck the "Use Traffic Source Postback URL to mark conversions at your Traffic Source".

Setup in AdsCompass

Below are all the steps required to setup the campaign in AdsCompass.

Step 3: Create the campaign in AdsCompass

  • Login to your AdsCompass account
  • Create a new campaign by going to "Campaigns" menu ➡️ "Add Campaign" button

  • Complete all the mandatory fields and settings

  • Add a creative

  • Put the Campaign URL from CPV Lab as URL in the Creative screen

    • by assigning the tracking link only to the selected creative, you can test different creatives with different links for one campaign

  • Click on the Create button to create the creative

Step 4: Start the campaign in AdsCompass

In AdsCompass platform, by default, after it is created, the campaign is sent to verification. Follow the following steps to launch your campaign in AdsCompass:

  • Activate the Creative - use the toggle for the creative you want to activate

  • Make sure you have funds in your account to get past moderation verification

  • Once it is approve, follow the results in CPV Lab Pro!

Check results

Once you start getting traffic to your campaign, you can check the results in

  • Visitor Stats - real time visitors coming to your campaign
  • Campaign Stats - shows aggregated data for your campaign, target performance, ad performance and all the metrics you need.
  • Drill Down Stats - check and arrange your levels of information as you wish.
  • Conversions list - check all the conversions registered for your campaigns

Postback tracking with CPV Lab | CPV One

  • When tracking your campaigns with CPV Lab or CPV One it is easy to integrate the tracker via Postback URL with different ad networks or systems.

  • To optimize an AdsCompass campaign is recommended to send conversions to the ad network

    • this will allow the AdsCompass algorithm distribute your ads to more relevant audiences (to the ones converting better)
  • CPV Lab can send automatically conversions back to the traffic source, server to server, via Postback URL

    • It can also send a specific percent of the conversions, based on what you need.
